Etna updates EN ISO 11612 to version: 2015

November 2018, AITEX lab (Spain) has tested Etna fr fabric to the new version of safety standard for Protective clothing – Clothing to protect against heat and flame. Etna confirmed its compliance to ISO EN 11612:2015 and received a new certificate, which you can see below.

According to EN ISO 11612:2015, Etna has been successfully tested to the following tests:

  1. Heat Resistance (ISO 17493:2000) – performance level – PASS

Etna results for samples and after 5 washing cycles at 60ºC, according to the standard ISO 6330:2012, method 6N, F drying (tumble dry)

The performance requirements set out in ISO 11612:2015 are applicable to garments which could be worn for a wide range of end uses, where there is a need for clothing with limited flame spread properties and where the user can be exposed to radiant or convective or contact heat or to molten metal splashes.

Etna flame retardant fabric is made of 350 gsm cotton and designed for protective FR clothing in Metallurgy and other industries.
Made of natural fibers it is soft and comfortable to wear. Carbon antistatic yarn is interwoven in the structure of the fabric for more safety at work in explosive atmospheres.

This fabric has been developed for use in a broad range of industries including petro-chemicals and utilities, especially in countries with hot climate. The modern 2/2 twill weave is complemented by Belltron carbon antistatic yarn in a stripe pattern. Flame retardant and antistatic fabric properties provide excellent protection from risks of Flash fire and ESD sparks. Lightweight, comfort and good level of protection make Etna optimal fabric for summer protective FR-clothing.

You can find all the certificates and additional information on the Etna product page.
