Gefest-480 is a heavyweight 480 gsm pure cotton fabric with a flame retardant finish and a smooth satin 5/2 weave. It is purpose-built for welders working in extreme conditions — offshore oil platforms, dry docks and naval shipyards. Long-staple cotton fibres twisted in both warp and weft make Gefest exceptionally durable — so strong it can’t be torn by hand. It is built for professional welders’ clothing in mechanical engineering, metallurgy, oil and gas pipeline construction and automotive work. In overalls, bibs and aprons the satin weave lets molten metal droplets run off the smooth surface, while the natural fibres stay soft and comfortable and protect against flash fire and electric arc.
