DIAMOND-310 CERTIFIED TO EN 20471

enIn May 2019 XM Textiles polyester fabric Diamond (Hi-Viz yellow) has been successfully tested and certified to EN 20471 (High visibility clothing – Test methods and requirements).
Diamond is a cotton rich fabric that combines durability of regular TC fabrics and breathable properties of natural cotton fabrics. The garment made of this cotton polyester fabric looks smart and neat. This versatile fabric is recommended in use for summer and winter uniform and work wear. The thermal midlayer boasts an intelligent thermo-regulation, due to its diamond-structured fabric. To keep you warm and dry at all times.

The Standard EN 20471:2013 specifies requirements for high visibility clothing which is capable of visually signaling the user’s presence. The high visibility clothing is intended to provide conspicuity of the wearer in any light condition when viewed by operators of vehicles or other mechanized equipment during daylight conditions and under illumination of headlights in the dark.

Performance requirements are included for colour and retroreflection as well as for the minimum areas and for the placement of the materials in protective clothing.
According to standard EN 20471 has been successfully passed all the following tests:

 

1. DETERMINATION OF COORDINATES (X,Y,Y)
The chromatic coordinates must be situated within the area defined by the coordinates specified in the Standard EN ISO 20471:2013/A1:2016 and the luminance factor shall exceed 0,70 specified in the Standard EN ISO 20471:2013/A1:2016.
Alba passed the test with the following results:

• Original: 1,0730 – PASS
• After testing light fastness: 1,0600 – PASS
• After 5 washing cycles at 60ºC + tumble drying: 1,0800 – PASS

 

2. COLOUR FASTNESS TO RUBBING
The limit set by the Standard EN ISO 20471:2013/A1:2016 for color fastness to rubbing is 4, in dry.

• Warp/Weft (dry staining): 4-5 – PASS

 

3. COLOUR FASTNESS TO PERSPIRATION
The limit set by the Standard EN ISO 20471:2013/A1:2016 point (5.3.2) for testing of colour fastness to perspiration, is 4 for degradation and 4 for staining

ALKALINE SOLUTION

• change in colour: 5 – PASS
• staining (cotton/polyester): 4-5 – PASS

ACID SOLUTION

• change in colour: 5 – PASS
• staining (cotton/polyester): 4-5 – PASS

 

4. COLOUR FASTNESS TO DOMESTIC AND COMMERCIAL LAUNDERING
The limit set by the Standard EN ISO 20471:2013/A1:2016 point (5.3.3) for testing of colour fastness to washing, is 4-5 for degradation and 4 for staining.

• change in colour: 5 – PASS
• staining (cotton/acryl): 4-5 – PASS

 

5. BURSTING RESISTANCE
Pneumatic method for determination of bursting strength and bursting distension

• Bursting Strength: 437(kPA) – PASS

 

6. WATER VAPOUR RESISTANCE
According to the requirements of EN ISO 20471:2013+EN ISO 20471:2013/A1:2016, if the water vapor resistance is higher than 5 m2Pa/W is to be measured the thermal resistance to determinate the water vapor permeability index. The water vapor permeability index to should be ≥ 0,15.

Water vapour resistance Ret (m2Pa/W): 5.40 – PASS
